Share a picture of your child in his or her Halloween Costume on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, and use the hashtag #NC529Halloween for a chance to win $100 deposited directly into your NC 529 account! For more information, see Official Rules.
If your Facebook profile is private, you can post directly to the NC 529 Facebook page, just be sure to include #NC529Halloween. If your Instagram or Twitter profile is private, please set it to public on November 2nd in order to enter your photo.
Prize: = 1 winner will receive $100 deposited directly into their NC 529 account.
To be eligible to receive the Prize, you must create or have an existing NC 529 Account with a designated beneficiary for whom the Prize will be used for higher education.
You may only enter one picture per child per social media account. You may submit a photo for multiple children if you have, or will open, NC 529 accounts for each of them.
The winners will be chosen on November 2, 2018 and contacted via social media. The winning photo will be posted on all NC 529 social media accounts – Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. See below for Official Rules.

How to Enter: Share a picture of your child in his or her Halloween Costume on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, and use the hashtag #NC529Halloween for a chance to win $100 deposited directly into your NC 529 account. If your Facebook profile is private, you may post directly to the NC 529 Facebook page, just be sure to include #NC529Halloween. If your Instagram or Twitter profile is private, please set it to public during the Promotion Period in order to enter your photo. By posting your child’s Halloween costume image on social media using the #NC529Halloween hashtag to enter the Promotion, you are agreeing to the following:
By posting my photo on social media using the hashtag #NC529Halloween to be entered in the Promotion, I hereby grant to College Foundation, Inc. (Program Administrator of the NC 529 Plan) and those acting with its authority and permission (collectively “CFI”), the irrevocable and unrestricted right and permission to use, re-use, publish, and re-publish photographic portraits or video of me, my minor child, or in which my minor child or I may be included, in whole or in part, without restriction as to changes or alterations, or reproductions thereof in all media now or hereafter for television, print, outdoor, website, Internet or collateral for CFI, North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA), the NC 529 Plan and College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC).
I grant this right without compensation and for an unlimited time. I understand that neither my last name nor my minor child’s last name, as applicable, will be used publicly by CFI in conjunction with my photo or video. I hereby waive any right that my minor child or I may have to inspect or approve the finished product or products and the content or advertising copy or other matter that may be used in connection therewith or the use to which it may be applied. On behalf of myself and my minor child, as applicable, I hereby release, discharge and agree to save harmless CFI, NCSEAA, the NC 529 Plan, and CFNC from any liability by virtue of use of photographs or video of me or my minor child, as applicable. They may do so without any claims for libel or invasion of privacy.
Promotion Period: Entries accepted from Thursday October 4, 2018 EST until Thursday November 1, 2018 EST.
Prize: $100 deposited directly into the Winner’s NC 529 account. One prize will be awarded.
Odds: Odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received.
Selection of Winner: Winner will be selected by a random drawing. Winner will be selected on Friday November 2, 2018 and contacted via the social media platform used for the Promotion entry. An announcement of the Winner will be posted to the NC 529 Plan social media pages once the Winner has been contacted and confirmed. Winners will have 24 hours to respond once contacted. If an initially selected Winner does not respond within the required time, that Winner will be disqualified and a new Winner will be chosen.
Winner’s Obligations: Winner’s acceptance of Prize constitutes a grant to North Carolina’s National College Savings Program, the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority, College Foundation, Inc., and its and their assigns of an unconditional right to use the following from the Winner and the subject of the photo entered: name, address (city and state only), voice, likeness, photograph, biographical and Prize information and/or statements about the Promotion for any current or future programming, publicity, advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. Winner must notify Sponsor of NC 529 account to be credited with Prize within 2 weeks of notice from Sponsor. If Winner does not have an existing NC 529 account, a new NC 529 account must be created with that 2 week period. The requirement for an initial contribution of $25 will be waived because the Prize will constitute the initial funding.
Eligibility: Entrants must be 18 years old or older to enter or win and be authorized to post the photos shared with the hashtag #NC529Halloween and entered in the Promotion. Prize may only be awarded as a direct contribution to an NC 529 account, so Entrants must have an existing NC 529 account or must open a new NC 529 account in order to receive the Prize.
Sponsor: North Carolina’s National College Savings Program (marketed as the “NC 529 Plan”). The NC 529 Plan is a program of the State of North Carolina, established and maintained by the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority to meet the requirements of a qualified tuition program under federal tax law; the program is administered by College Foundation, Inc. The State of North Carolina, the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority, and College Foundation, Inc., and Facebook are collectively referred to as “Promotion Parties.” The Promotion is administered by NC 529 Plan, 2917 Highwoods Boulevard, Raleigh, NC 27604.
No Liability of Sponsor; Right to Cancel: Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, and/or modify the Promotion or any part of it if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Promotion, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Promotion or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or any other promotion or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Duplicate photos, inappropriate photos, and photos not meeting Promotion requirements will be removed from the NC 529 Plan Facebook page, at the NC 529 Plan’s sole discretion.
BY ENTERING THE PROMOTION, EACH ENTRANT AGREES TO INDEMNIFY, RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS THE PROMOTION PARTIES, THEIR PARENT, AFFILIATE AND SUBSIDIARY COMPANIES, THE FACEBOOK PLATFORM, ADMINISTRATOR, ADVERTISING AND PROMOTIONAL AGENCIES, AND ALL OF THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES AND AGENTS FROM ANY LIABILITY, DAMAGES, LOSSES OR INJURY RESULTING IN WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, FROM THAT ENTRANT’S PARTICIPATION IN THE PROMOTION, USE OF HIS OR HER PHOTOGRAPH AND PERSONAL INFORMATION, AND THE ACCEPTANCE, USE OR MISUSE OF ANY PRIZE THAT MAY BE WON. THE PROMOTION PARTIES AND THEIR PARENT, AFFILIATE AND SUBSIDIARY COMPANIES DO NOT MAKE ANY WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS TO THE CONDITION, FITNESS OR MERCHANTABILITY OF THE PRIZE. THE PROMOTION PARTIES AND THEIR PARENTS, SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, ADVERTISING AND PROMOTIONAL AGENCIES, AND ALL THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES AND AGENTS DISCLAIM ANY LIABILITY FOR DAMAGE TO ANY COMPUTER SYSTEM RESULTING FROM ACCESS TO OR THE DOWNLOAD OF INFORMATION OR MATERIALS CONNECTED WITH THE PROMOTION.
This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook or any other social media platform. Entrants understand and acknowledge that they are providing their information to Sponsor and not to Facebook or other social media platform.

Incidental expenses and all other costs and expenses which are not specifically listed as part of a prize in these Official Rules and which may be associated with the award, acceptance, receipt and use of all or any portion of the awarded prize are solely the responsibility of the respective prize winner.
