From the President...
Community colleges provide quality education and workforce training for nearly 850,000 North Carolinians. But we don’t believe our
work stops there. We want our students to leave our campuses prepared to seek a better quality of life, and that includes financially.
A collaborative effort of the NC Department of State Treasurer, Community College System, State Education Assistance Authority and College
Foundation of North Carolina, Advanced Money Management for Community College Students was designed with one goal in
mind--to support our students’ success.
We hope this tool will help you carefully consider grant, scholarship and loan dollars that may be available to you during college as
well as assist you in avoiding financial hurdles in your post-community college life. Strong financial habits must be developed and practiced
over time. I am confident that Advanced Money Management will be a positive first step as you build a solid financial future.
