Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is necessary to determine eligibility for state and federal aid to cover college expenses.

Important Notes on Preparing for your FAFSA Completion:

  1. Each student and one parent should apply for a FSA ID at fsaid.ed.gov. Make sure to keep a record of the parent's and student's email addresses, the answers to the security questions, and both FSA IDs in a secure place. You'll need that information to sign the FAFSA.

  2. Complete the 2018-19 FAFSA available at fafsa.gov beginning October 1st.

  3. You'll need information from your 2016 tax filing.

  4. After Submitting the FAFSA, you'll receive a Student Aid Report which is necessary to check the status of your FAFSA.
