The Fallen Linemen Foundation is an organization founded in 2004 with the primary focus of providing financial support to electric utility linemen injured while on the job and/or supporting organizations and institutions. The foundation is a 501-3C organization.

To be considered, a candidate must:
  • Be a high school senior or have a high school diploma from an accredited school or GED equivalent
  • Be a permanent resident of North Carolina
  • Be a child of a lineman
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application
  • Plan to enroll as a full-time student in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution
  • Demonstrate academic performance

Three (3) $1,000 scholarships are awarded each year. Scholarship funds may be applied to tuition, fees, books and other related expenses. Students are eligible to reapply each year.

Application Procedure
Students can obtain an application on the Fallen Linemen Foundation website at www.fallenlinemenfoundation.com.

Applications are currently available and should be completed and returned by May 31st to be considered for the next academic year.

Only completed application packets will be considered. Completed application packets include:
  • An application
  • A copy of the student's academic transcript
  • Demonstration of community or school-related activities
