Beacon Scholarship for Rural America

  • Two $1,000 scholarships for the fall semester of 2019, and one $1,000 scholarship for the spring semester of 2019
  • The scholarships renew biannually

For consideration, applicants must:
  • Be college-bound graduating high school seniors, current college students, or adult learners with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (high school or college) who are planning to enroll in an accredited college/community college/trade school program.
  • Reside in a rural area from a low-income family (both rural and low-income are defined on the application page at:
  • Employees of Carrot-Top Industries and their immediate relatives are not eligible

Two $1,000 scholarships for the fall semester of 2019, and one $1,000 scholarship for the spring semester of 2020.

Application Procedure
  • Complete application at Carrot-Top's website,
  • Submit an essay of approximately 750 words responding to the prompt: "What does patriotism mean to you, and how do you believe patriotism can help communities across America?"
  • Submit a copy of your most recent high school or college transcript and two letters of recommendation from teachers, coaches, counselors, other academic professionals, or colleagues
  • Submit a current photo or school photo for marketing purposes

Application Deadlines

  • For fall semester, 2019: June 30, 2019
  • For spring semester, 2020: October 31, 2019

Other Information
  • Chosen applicants will be decided by the owners, management, and staff of Carrot-Top Industries. The scholarship check will be sent directly to the winner's college or university.
  • Applicants chosen will be notified: for the Fall 2019 award, we will announce winners by July 31, 2019; for the spring 2020 award, we will announce winners by November 30, 2019.
