Florence Kidder Memorial Scholarship

Founded in 1894, the NSCDA-NC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to promoting an appreciation for the people, places and events that led to the formation and development of our nation. The Florence Kidder Memorial Scholarship (FKMS) honors the memory of the first president of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of North Carolina, Florence Hill Kidder.


To be considered a candidate must:

  • Be a high school senior planning to attend a North Carolina college or university.

  • Two one-time, non-renewable scholarships will be provided. Award amounts are $3000 and $1000.

Application Procedure

Applicants must submit:

All application materials must be submitted and received by February 5, 2016.

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of merit of the individual essay (75%), scholarship and character (20%) and need (5%).
