Programa de Becas Por Una Vida Mejor (Scholarship Program for Better Living)

Description
Qué Pasa Media and Wells Fargo provide scholarships to support the education of young Hispanic residents in the Piedmont-Triad area.

Eligibility
To be considered, a candidate must:
  • Be Hispanic
  • Be under 22 years of age
  • Be bilingual
  • Have completed high school in North Carolina or have a diploma high school equivalent (HSE)
  • Be currently enrolled or have been accepted for the 2016 spring semester at a community college, or public or private college or university in North Carolina
  • Be required to pay non-resident tuition at community colleges or University of North Carolina institutions as a result of immigrant status
  • Be a resident of one of the following counties:
    • Alamance
    • Caswell
    • Davidson
    • Forsyth
    • Guilford
    • Montgomery
    • Randolph
    • Rockingham
    • Stokes
    • Surry
    • Yadkin

Amount
Three (3) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.

Application Procedure
Applications are available at https://greensboro.quepasanoticias.com/becas and must be submitted online by November 15, 2015. A completed application includes:

  • An online application
  • A copy of your high school transcript or transcript from your high school equivalent (HSE) program
  • A copy of your college or university transcript (only necessary if you have attended a college or university)
  • A letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor or another adult who is not a member of your family
  • An essay in a Word doc
Awards will be made in December 2015.
