Early college-cost Estimator (EccE) Calculator

College Foundation of North Carolina is pleased to provide this calculator to help you plan for your college expenses. Please remember that the result you get from this calculator is only an estimate; in addition, aid programs and eligibility requirements are subject to change. The financial aid office at the college you attend will determine the types and amounts of financial aid for which you are eligible using a more detailed formula. This calculator is only a tool to help you plan and should not be regarded as a promise or commitment of assistance. The financial aid administrator at your college is the final authority on the exact amount of your estimated family contribution and your resulting financial aid package.

Enter income and asset data. Here's what EccE can do:

  • Estimate public and private college Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
  • Project an inflation-adjusted EFC any number of years into the future
  • Show instant before/after what-if answers (inheritance, bonus, etc.)
  • Compute education loan payments for Stafford, PLUS, Perkins, and others
  • Print your EFC Report for future reference (aid explanations included)
  • EccE provides easy-to-understand help messages next to every field

You may access the calculator by clicking the Start the Calculator button below.

You also have the choice of downloading the EccE Calculator file to your computer for future, easy access.
