Programs within the North Carolina Community College System

The Appalachian Learning Alliance: A partnership between Appalachian State University and ten regional community colleges in western North Carolina.

Carolina Alliance for Transfer Students (CATS): Western Carolina University and several surrounding community colleges operate a collaborative initiative to offer courses toward the Bachelor of Science in Birth - Kindergarten (BK) Education.

Wachovia Partnership East: A collaboration between East Carolina University College of Education and the North Carolina Community College System to assist students with access to four-year teaching degrees through distance education.

The Watson School of Education: The University of North Carolina at Wilmington has collaborative efforts with five community colleges in southeastern North Carolina.
