From Another State

North Carolina welcomes teachers moving to our great state from other parts of the country. The steps to becoming a teacher in North Carolina are slightly different for individuals holding a valid or expired teaching license from another state. Many states have a reciprocal-licensing agreement with North Carolina, which means that individuals holding licenses in those participating states may obtain a license for teaching in North Carolina. However, even if you hold a license in a non-reciprocal licensing state, you are also encouraged to apply for a North Carolina teaching license.

Reciprocal Licensing - discover how you can become qualified to teach in North Carolina.
