Description
The North Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NCASFAA) awards scholarships to encourage disadvantaged middle school students to begin considering attending college after finishing high school by providing tuition to a summer enrichment program at a North Carolina college or university. Each student will be matched with a mentor to assist them with selecting a program and requesting funds from NCASFAA.

Eligibility
Students must be at least 13 years old and provide documentation of eligibility for the free or reduced lunch program.

Value
There will be six scholarships awarded up to $1,000 each. Scholarship recipients will represent the Eastern, Western, and Middle Regions of the State (two per region). Funding may vary each year depending on availability.

Application Procedure
Applications may be downloaded from the NCASFAA website. To be considered all documents must be received by December 1. Finalist will be notified by the Middle School Enrichment Scholarship Committee by December 15. Each finalist will then be asked to provide a letter of recommendation from his/her guidance counselor.
